Carbon Credits

Climate Change

AWT is an American National Standards Institute (ANSI) accredited Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Verification body (Accreditation ID#0898) based on the requirements set forth in ISO 14065:2007 (Greenhouse gases – Requirements for GHG validation and verification bodies).  The scope of our accreditation includes verification of assertions related to GHG emission reductions and removals at the project level for Group 3 (Land Use and Forestry), Group 5 (Livestock) and Group 6 (Waste Handling and Disposal).  AWT has 3 CSA America, Inc Certified Greenhouse Gas Verifiers.  Please contact Chris Mosley (cmosley@agriwaste.com) for no-cost proposals for verification of your projects.

For clients who are not receiving carbon offset project verification services from AWT, we can assist in evaluating the potential a project has for the production of carbon offsets as well as guide clients through the development of required project documentation.  Greenhouse Gas emission offsets can be created by collecting and destroying or utilizing biogas created from anaerobic treatment of animal manure, organic waste or municipal solid waste, composting organic waste and a variety of forest management systems.

AWT is experienced with a variety of GHG offset protocols including those used by Climate Action Reserve, Voluntary Carbon Standard, Pacific Carbon Trust, RGGI and CCX. We can assist with navigating the GHG market and quantifying carbon credits and creating project design documents in any of these markets.
