Wastewater Services

Since our beginning, we’ve steadily expanded our on‑site wastewater division to meet the needs of communities across the Southeast. While each region below has dedicated staff, we provide quality, reliable on-site wastewater services throughout ALL of North Carolina, Virginia, and South Carolina. Our wastewater services is a collaboration with our Soil Scientists and Wastewater Engineers to develop the best wastewater solutions for our clients.

Triangle Region

- Our Triangle office has been our home base since day one, delivering the full spectrum of on‑site wastewater services with reliability and care.
- Services Include:
  - Point of Sale inspections
  - Maintenance inspections
  - Soils evaluations
  - Private permitting (LSS Option Permits and AOWE Permits)
  - Advanced wastewater system design and permitting through county and state health departments, as well as Engineered Option Permits (EOP’s)

Charlotte/Triad Region

- - In March 2020, Trevor Hackney launched our Charlotte/Triad office in Salisbury. Opening during a pandemic was no small feat, “AWT Charlotte” quickly took root and has become a trusted provider for the Charlotte, Triad, and surrounding communities.
  - Services Include:
    - Point of Sale inspections
    - Maintenance inspections
    - Soils evaluations
    - Private permitting (LSS Option Permits and AOWE Permits)
    - Advanced wastewater system design and permitting through county and state health departments, as well as Engineered Option Permits (EOP’s)

Coastal Region

- - - For years, our Triangle team provided services in North Carolina’s coastal region on a limited basis. In 2025, we made a dedicated commitment to expand our presence and strengthen community ties in this area.
    - Services Include:

      - Private permitting (LSS Option Permits and AOWE Permits)
      - Advanced wastewater system design and permitting through county and state health departments, as well as Engineered Option Permits (EOP’s)

Western Virginia

- - - - In June 2025, AWT expanded into the Roanoke, VA area under the leadership of Noah Puckett. Known for thorough work and clear communication across North Carolina, we now bring that same trusted quality to Virginia.

Agriculture Services

AWT has been serving producers since 1984. We are certified to write a variety of specialty plans and have established partnerships with the NRCS, regulatory agencies, and equipment suppliers.
AWT has Professional Agricultural Engineers and NRCS Technical Service Providers (TSP) on staff to service the following states:

Offset Validation/Verification Services

We started as a small engineering ﬁrm that specialized in livestock waste management. Our focus has always been on helping ﬁnd sustainable solutions in a cost-efﬁcient manner. When carbon neutrality became important to corporate stake holders in the early 2000s, helping farmers and project developers navigate the carbon offset veriﬁcation process was a natural ﬁt for AWT. Since then, AWT has expanded its carbon veriﬁcation services to include a variety of biogas to RNG projects (livestock, OWD, MMC, landﬁll, NAP, LCC, and OOG).
AWT is proud to be one of the nation’s longest standing carbon veriﬁcation providers and offers these services to project developers across the United States.
