Adam Gaines
PE, TSP (NC/OH/SC/TN/MS)
Senior Project EngineerAdam joined the AWT team in June 2015. He received a B.S. in Biological and Agricultural Engineering with concentration in Environmental Engineering from North Carolina State University in 2015. Furthermore, Adam is an NRCS TSP in NC, OH, SC, TN and MS. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in NC, SC, AL, FL, and OH. Adam is working to obtain his P.E. and TSP for all southern state is the US.
Before joining the team, he grew up in Coleridge, NC. This small agrarian town focused mainly on poultry, cattle, and tobacco. Adam worked for NCDOT in the highways and aviation departments inspecting construction projects and runways. Since joining AWT, Adam focus is helping farmers improve sustainability and construct new structures to improve farm value and functionality. Adam works with farmers from North Carolina, South Carolina, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Alabama to complete Comprehensive Nutrient Management Plans (CNMP).
Adam helps farmers with Agricultural Energy Management Plans (AgEMP), and Agricultural Energy Design Plans (AgEDP), allowing farmers to improve their facilities by updating equipment such as fans, lights, heaters, etc. Adam also writes Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP), which allow farmers to add new barns and increase animal production.
Most recently, Adam assists the NC Pork Council with their Pork Leadership Carolina Program. Through this program, Adam was able to meet local producers and gain a stronger understanding of what it means to be a farmer in NC as well as meet with state representatives in Raleigh and Washington DC to express concerns over difficulties that farmers face each and every day.
