Katie joined the team as an intern in January 2020. She began full-time after graduating from North Carolina State University. She graduated Cum Laude with a B.S. in Biological Engineering with a concentration in the environment. She has her Engineering Intern Certification and is a lead verifier for Climate Action Reserve (CAR) scopes 5 & 6, livestock and waste handling/disposal projects.

Katie grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina. She realized her passion for agriculture after joining Sigma Alpha, a Professional Agricultural Sorority.

Currently, Katie works in the Carbon Sector as an Assistant Project Engineer.  She works to verify carbon offsets under registries like the California Air Resources Board, Climate Action Reserve, American Carbon Registry, and Low Carbon Fuel Standard. Katie enjoys researching new greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction/removal technologies and evaluating their implementation in a variety of agricultural practices.

When not at work, Katie is most likely found hiking with her dog or trying out new restaurants with friends.
